Nike Inc. on Friday morning said it will create up to 10,000 advanced manufacturing and engineering jobs in the United States if a controversial trade deal passes.
The sportswear giant, which has long been maligned for its reliance on overseas factories, made the announcement hours ahead of an address at its campus by President Barack Obama.
The president is scheduled to speak around 9 a.m. in Federer Platz, a small plaza on Nike's campus in front of the Mia Hamm building, which houses the company's research and development arm, called the Nike Sport Research Lab.
